Park Square is pleased to announce the placement of Tsjerk Hoekstra as Vice President of Engineering at iPronics Programmable Photonics. iPronics has developed the first general purpose photonic processor capable of programming high speed light signals on-chip with unprecedented flexibility, which can make the computational power of photonics affordable and more widely available.

Hoekstra most recently served as Vice President of Engineering at Smart Photonics, an independent foundry for Indium Phosphide photonics semiconductors. Before that, he was Vice President of Photonic Platforms at Effect Photonics, a venture-backed company developing photonic optical systems. 

Hoekstra spent over a decade at Cirrus Logic, a provider of low-power audio and high-performance mixed-signal processing technology, where he held technology and strategy leadership roles and his early career includes technology and product development roles at Alcatel-Lucent, JDS Uniphase, and AkzoNobel.

Hoekstra received a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Twente.
