Synthetic Genomics, Inc. (SGI) has appointed Aaron Hanson as Vice President, Operations of its SGI-DNA subsidiary. SGI-DNA, founded in 2013 and headquartered in La Jolla, CA, provides differentiated synthetic DNA solutions to leading organizations with demands for large and/or complex DNA constructs. 

Prior to joining SGI-DNA, Hanson served as Director of Manufacturing at Alere. From 2008-2010, he served as Director of Manufacturing at Illumina, Inc. Previously, Hanson served as Senior Manager of Manufacturing at Invitrogen Corporation. In earlier roles, he served as Senior Scientist and Group Leader of Product Development and Process Chemistry at Sequenom, Inc. where he also served as Scientist. 

Hanson received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He received his B.A. in Biology and Chemistry from Point Loma Nazarene College.
