Park Square is pleased to announce the placement of Richard Bourgon, Ph.D., as Vice President, Computational Research at Freenome. Freenome is a rapidly growing biotechnology startup developing next-generation blood tests for early cancer detection based on the company’s multi-omics platform.

Bourgon most recently served in roles of increasing responsibility at Genentech, including Director and Senior Scientist, Oncology Bioinformatics. In this capacity he led a team of bioinformatics scientists and scientific computing software engineers in pursuing sophisticated statistical and high-dimensional biological data analysis. Prior to joining Genentech in 2010, Bourgon served as a Research Fellow at University of Cambridge.

Bourgon received his B.A./B.S. in mathematics and history from Brown University and his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of California, Berkeley.
